Editorial Policy

Verification

Every error code, part number and cost figure published here is checked against at least one primary source — a manufacturer service manual, an official support document, or a parts retailer listing — before publication. Articles that have not completed this step display a notice at the top of the page.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to research, draft and edit. We do not publish unverified AI output. A human reviews every article for factual accuracy before it goes live, and is accountable for what appears on the page. Where a claim could not be verified, it is removed rather than hedged.

Corrections

If we publish something wrong, we fix it and say so. Substantive corrections are noted in the article with the date of the change. Report an error through our contact page.

Updates

Repair guides age: parts get superseded, prices move, models are discontinued. Articles carry a visible "updated" date whenever content changes materially. We do not refresh dates without changing content.

Independence

No manufacturer, retailer or repair service pays for coverage, placement or a favourable verdict. Advertising and affiliate links are disclosed separately in our affiliate disclosure and never influence which parts or repairs we recommend.

Safety

Where a repair involves mains voltage, gas, sealed refrigerant systems or pressurised water, we say so and recommend a licensed technician when the risk warrants it. We do not publish workarounds that defeat a safety interlock.
