The number in the code is the blockage percentage. LG documents it plainly:
If your dryer is displaying a d75, d80, d90 or d95 code, this indicates that the dryer’s exhaust duct is clogged. 75%, 80%, 90% or 95% respectively.
So d80 is not a fault code in the usual sense. It is a measurement. Your dryer has assessed its own exhaust and concluded that four fifths of it is not getting through, and it is telling you the figure.
That changes what a sensible response looks like, because you cannot clear a measurement. You can only change what is being measured.
What LG says to do, by number
d75 and d80. The duct needs cleaning. The dryer still runs, dries slowly, and is telling you where the trend is going.
d90 and d95. LG’s wording is not advisory:

Why the code came back
The most common frustration with this family is that the code returns after a clean. Two reasons, and they are different problems:
You cleared the part you could reach. The lint at the dryer outlet is the accessible 10%. If the compacted section is halfway along a run inside a wall, removing the accessible part improves airflow enough to drop below the threshold for a while, and then it does not.
The duct is within specification for length but not for shape. Airflow is lost to every bend, not just to length. A physically short run with four turns in it can restrict as much as a long straight one — the arithmetic is in a dryer that takes too long to dry, where the published table prices each elbow at roughly ten feet of allowed run.
If your duct is clean and the code still comes back, the duct is probably not the right shape rather than not clean.
