Samsung Dryer Error Codes: Two Whole Families Mean 'Clean the Vent'
Samsung groups its dryer codes into families rather than listing them singly, and both the heating and temperature families resolve to one blocked vent.
Samsung does not document its dryer codes one at a time. It documents them in families — and once you see the families, most of the list collapses into a much shorter set of answers.
Two of the five families have the same remedy, and it is a vent.
The families, as Samsung gives them

Heating and temperature: the same answer
Samsung gives an identical cause for both families:
The most common cause is a clogged lint screen or vent system trapping heat in the dryer. Clean the lint screen, vent system, or both to correct the error.
That is two families, nineteen listed codes, and one remedy.
It is also the reason to treat these as urgent rather than annoying. A heating code means the machine has measured itself getting too hot, and Samsung names restricted airflow as the cause. Trapped heat and accumulated lint in the same place is how dryer fires start. Clear it before running more loads.
Where to look, in order of what actually pays: the lint screen — washed, not just picked clean, if you use dryer sheets — then the duct at the back of the machine, then the vent hood outside. If you own an LG rather than a Samsung, the equivalent codes are more specific still — d75, d80, d90 and d95 state the blockage as a percentage.
The heating family also covers the opposite problem
This is the sentence worth reading twice, because it is genuinely counterintuitive. On electric dryers, Samsung adds:
The error can occur when the heater is not hot enough, which can be caused by low voltage.
So a family of codes that means “getting too hot” also fires when the machine is not getting hot enough. Both are the heat circuit failing to behave as expected, and the control reports the family rather than the direction.
Low voltage on an electric dryer has a specific and common cause: these machines need 240 volts for the heating element, and half of a double-pole breaker can trip while leaving the drum turning normally. That whole diagnosis is in a dryer that is not heating.
Practical consequence: if you get a heating code and the clothes come out cold, do not spend the afternoon on the duct. Check the breaker first.
Door codes
Check that the latch is securely fixed, laundry or other items are not caught in the door, and the door is closed and secured correctly.
A sleeve or a corner of a towel trapped in the seal holds the door a fraction open, and the machine correctly refuses to run. Nothing is broken. The same symptom on other brands, and the fact that some doors have two latches which must both engage, is covered in a dryer that will not start.
The stuck button, which looks like a dead control panel
This one is worth knowing because it is invisible and the fix is free:
This appears if a button on the panel is detected as stuck or continuously pressed.
A control that thinks a button is permanently held will not accept anything else, so the machine appears completely unresponsive.
Samsung’s method is specific:
Power off the dryer, and then individually touch and release every button on the panel, working back and forth to reach all edges of each button.
The “all edges” part is the instruction people skip. A membrane button can be held down at one corner while the centre feels normal, so pressing the middle of each button proves nothing. Work around each one.
Voltage codes
Check that the dryer is on its own circuit and not using an extension cord.
Take that literally. A dryer should not be run from an extension cord at all — the current draw is not what those cords are built for, and this is a safety matter rather than a performance one.
Samsung adds, for electric machines, to confirm the power cord has been installed properly and the correct voltage is being supplied. We are not telling you how to measure it. That means working on a live 240-volt circuit, and confirming supply voltage is an electrician’s job.
When the code comes back
Every family on Samsung’s page ends the same way: if the error continues after the documented remedy, request service.
That is the right dividing line. These codes describe conditions — too hot, door open, button held, voltage wrong. A condition you have corrected should clear. A code that returns against a clean vent, a shut door and a sound circuit is reporting a component instead: a thermistor, a thermostat, a door switch, a control board.

A heating code with cold clothes. Check the breaker before the duct. Samsung documents low voltage under the same family.
A door code. Look for laundry caught in the seal before assuming a switch.
A bE-type code. Power off and work every button, edges included. Free.
A voltage code. Own circuit, no extension cord. If that is already true, it is an electrician rather than an appliance technician.
Any code that returns after the fix. Now it is a part, and the diagnosis is worth paying for before the component is.
